Hear jurists and victims expose flaws in a system where justice does NOT prevail. Where people don't get a fair trial and the INNOCENT are convicted! Martin Luther King said “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere”. With a growing awareness that our western Justice system fails it’s people, Justice For All Inc is bringing International experts to Christchurch to speak on Wrongful Convictions. Bruce MacFarlane QC a Canadian Lawyer, Crown Prosecutor and Deputy Attorney General pioneered research into the causes of Wrongful Convictions. He presented his ground breaking paper ‘ Convicting the Innocent’ to the Heads of Prosecution in the Commonwealth in 2003. Bruce will address the ‘Invisible Causes’ to this profoundly serious social injustice. Dr Robert Moles runs ‘Networked Knowledge’ a web page that publishes legal materials. Bob investigates miscarriage of justice cases in Australia and will discuss the ‘Flaws In the System. Prof Bibi Sangha from Flinders University is an expert in the Appeal process and will cover ‘Appeal Problems’. Putting a human face to this tragedy are high profile justice victims David Tamihere and Sandy Watson. They will speak on how they and their whanau have been impacted.
